Logan Paul Skips WWE SmackDown for a Surprising Reason: Competing in the 2024 Classic Tetris World Championship

In a turn of events that no one could have predicted, Logan Paul, the current WWE United States Champion, missed WWE SmackDown June 7th, 2024 to pursue one of his childhood dreams: competing in the 2024 Classic Tetris World Championship (CTWC).

Logan Paul teased his followers on X (formerly Twitter) earlier in the day with a cryptic post, hinting at a significant achievement. Fans speculated he might have a special appearance or announcement for WWE SmackDown, but Paul had different plans. While he did appear on SmackDown via a pre-recorded video, he was notably absent from the live event in Louisville, Kentucky.

Instead, on Friday, June 7th, Logan Paul was in Los Angeles, taking on a different kind of challenge. He was a surprise entrant in the CTWC special Tetris live streamed eight contestant mini-battle event, held at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California.

Competing against some of the best Tetris players in the world, Paul managed to defeat Chris Tang in the first round. However, his journey was cut short in the semi-finals by My Arcades sponsored player Willis ‘Blue Scuti’ Gibson, the 14-year-old prodigy who recently made history by being the first person to ever 'beat' the NES version of Tetris.
