Celebrating Blu Scuti's Triumphs at the Classic Tetris World Championship 2024
We are thrilled to announce that our very own Willis Gibson, also known as Blue Scuti, had made the semi-finals at the Classic Tetris World Championship (CTWC) 2024 in Pasadena, California. From June 7–9, the world’s best Tetris players gathered to showcase their skills, and Blue Scuti emerged as a standout performer, winning two prestigious awards.
A Legend Among Champions
Blue Scuti's journey to the top has been nothing short of extraordinary. At this year's CTWC, he secured the coveted position of the top-seated player in the tournament's qualifying round. His unmatched skill and strategic brilliance earned him this well-deserved recognition, solidifying his status as a leading figure in the Tetris community.
But that’s not all. In a historic moment that will be remembered for years to come, My Arcade sponsored player Willis received a special award from the Tetris company for being the first player ever to crash the game. At age 13 on December 21, 2023, he advanced to level 157, reaching the notorious "kill screen" — a point where the game becomes unplayable due to its original programming limitations. This incredible feat took him less than 39 minutes, showcasing his unparalleled talent and determination.
